Leading the Mobile Olliv Design
CoinFlip — one of the largest cryptocurrency ATM networks in the U.S. — had built a familiar in-person way for first-time users to access crypto. But many users reached a critical point: after buying crypto, they needed a digital wallet to complete transactions. Because CoinFlip lacked a native wallet, users were forced to leave the platform and onboard with a third-party product — often abandoning their transaction or transferring to a competitor.
That gap led to a major loss of conversion and long-term user value. To close it, we built Olliv — a simple, secure mobile wallet designed to seamlessly connect with CoinFlip’s ATMs and allow users to transact crypto all in one place. As the lead designer for Olliv mobile, I owned the experience end-to-end, from defining the wallet architecture and core flows to crafting the UI and ensuring clarity across complex blockchain operations.

Different companies follow different design processes. This is how I usually approach design at Olliv, given the short release cycle. There are usually a few ongoing projects at the same time.

Traditional crypto transactions suffer from:
❌ Fragmented multi-screen flows
❌ Unclear pricing breakdowns
❌ Uncertainty about transaction completion
🚧 For most users, sending or buying crypto feels like navigating an obstacle course with no clear path forward.

A More Unified Transaction Experience
✅ Users can enter the amount, select crypto, choose a wallet, and pick a payment method—all from one screen
✅ Fewer steps, less friction, more confidence in completing transactions
Transparent Pricing & Fee Breakdown
✅ Clear fee breakdowns upfront, reducing hesitation
✅ Live price updates eliminate surprises
Real-Time Transaction Confirmation
✅ Instant feedback on transaction status (Processing → Confirmed → Completed)
✅ Clear estimated arrival time, so users know exactly when to expect their crypto

Users can effortlessly assess their assets on the Portfolio page, featuring a circle chart displaying asset percentages. For users with multiple wallets, easy navigation is available through the scrollable tab menu at the top.
Creating a wallet can be a complex task, particularly for crypto newbies unfamiliar with 'self-custodial' wallets. Our aim is to strike a delicate balance between a user-friendly experience and robust security.
Our approach begins with delivering a clear explanation of the seed phase to ensure users grasp its importance. Subsequently, we assist users in tailoring their seed phrase length and verification, guaranteeing a smooth and secure experience.

We aim to bridge the gap between digital and physical worlds by integrating our Olliv app with Coinflip ATMs. This feature is a competitive advantage for Olliv because it:
Enhances user convenience: Users can quickly access cash after a sale or use cash to buy crypto through the 'Find Kiosk' option, locating nearby ATMs for transactions.
Drives revenue by creating a crypto ecosystem that attracts users and generates income for both platforms.

When I joined the project, there was no existing design system or UI framework in place. I led the creation of a scalable, token-based design system across typography, color, components, and interactions, and partnered with engineering to integrate it into Storybook for seamless implementation.
This foundation enabled faster iteration, ensured consistency across the product, and allowed the team to scale without repeatedly reinventing core UI patterns.
